The Magical World of Borealia

The Path of the Tulips
A boy, a radio and a dream…
Our strongest memories do not always live in photographs or books.
Sometimes they live in the smell of a cake baking or in a song you know by heart.
They hide in the sound of the wind, in the laughter of someone you love or in the music playing in the background while you travel on holiday.
These small things stay with us even as we grow older.
Every childhood has an invisible thread connecting it to the person we become. And within those threads, often so fragile and poetic, lies the true magic of life.
And you?
What is your most vivid childhood memory?
This is where my stories began…
The warmth of small moments, the hum of my grandmother’s sewing machine blending with the voices on the radio, while I played on the floor with empty reels of thread.
Meet the author
Dimy Hatziefstratiou
Dimy Hatziefstratiou was born in 1972 in the countryside of the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
He grew up surrounded by simple things: the warmth of a sewing machine, the voices on the radio and the endless stories they told. These early experiences fuelled his imagination and taught him that the most magical journeys do not begin with a plane ticket, but with a thought.
Against all odds
Like Clara, the protagonist of his book, Dimy grew up far from the big cities, travelled long distances to attend school and dreamed of exploring the world. And he did. As an adult, he lived in England and Ireland and now lives in Spain, where he teaches English and shares his love of stories.
The Magical World of Borealia is his first book: a modern tale about hope, identity and the invisible threads that connect our dreams with who we are.
Like her creator, Clara faces bullying, loneliness and the challenges of growing up far from everything; yet against all odds, she finds strength in her imagination and dares to dream of something greater.
Welcome to Borealia
If you found a strange book buried beneath the ground, would you open it?
Borealia…
A hidden and magical world filled with enchanted forests, crystal towers and a magnificent university of magic.
It may exist in another realm, far beyond anything we can see; or perhaps it exists only within the mind of someone with a powerful imagination. It is a place where dreams come to life and where dangerous secrets wait to be discovered.
In Borealia, books whisper secrets, mountains glow and anything is possible if you dare to believe.
22:22 – The journey begins
Clara is a curious and intelligent girl from a small town in Brazil who often feels that she does not quite fit in.
She loves languages, escapes into her daydreams and suffers from bullying at school.
She also has a strange obsession with repeated numbers on the clock, as though they were clues meant only for her.
One afternoon, beneath her favourite tree, she discovers a mysterious book buried in the red earth.
That night, at exactly 22:22, the book begins to glow and suddenly pulls her into its pages.
She finds herself in a grand library in Paris, not by chance, but at the beginning of a magical adventure that will take her to Borealia.
But how much of it is real? What if Borealia is nothing more than the creation of an extraordinary imagination?
Borealia has several layers within a single story.
A child will see the magic and adventure.
A teenager will discover values such as friendship, courage, empathy and the importance of believing in oneself.
And an adult will come face to face with reality: the dreams we left behind, the decisions that changed us and the person we became.
Because Borealia is not only a magical world; it is also a journey into our own inner world.
